The ultimate goal is to make an Intranet something no employee could do without just about every single day. To do that, the applications employees would use on a daily basis need to be integral to the design. At this time, the NG Insider Intranet didn’t have anything of that nature in it.
We decided to hold some workshops with representatives from around the organization – who could speak to what their departments did on a daily basis.
Our findings uncovered several needs:
Empowerment, getting things done through personalization and customization of features.
Self Service, employees wanted to be more resourceful through access to information, support, resources, and training.
Collaboration via tools for schedule management, meeting management, community integration, and virtual meetings.
Internal Communications could be better with and among their remote workforce.
